A tragic domestic dispute in Ghaziabad led to the murder of a woman, Renu, allegedly at the hands of her husband, Arun Kumar. The incident, which occurred on October 4th, saw Arun reportedly use an iron rod to inflict severe injuries upon his wife. The violence escalated from an argument concerning household chores and Arun's alleged alcoholism.
Disturbingly, Arun Kumar is accused of video-calling Renu's father during the assault and threatening to kill her. Police confirmed multiple calls were made to Renu's family while she was being attacked. By the time her father and relatives arrived from Aligarh, Renu had succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital.
An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as a head injury, with reports indicating Renu sustained more than 35 injuries. Arun Kumar, along with his parents Vinod Kumar and Rohtashi, were arrested and subsequently sent to judicial custody. An FIR has been registered against them for murder and cruelty.
