Husband Hires Hitman, Blames Neighbor for Wife's Shooting

A husband has been arrested in Loni Border, Ghaziabad, for allegedly plotting to kill his wife. Harishankar, 38, is accused of hiring a hitman for Rs 50,000 because he suspected his wife, Sanju Devi, 33, of having an affair.
Police investigations, including CCTV footage and call detail records, revealed Harishankar's involvement. He had transferred Rs 35,000 to the hitman, Vineet Rajput, and promised the rest upon completion. Harishankar falsely accused a neighbor and his sons.
This was not the first attempt; the accused had previously tried to kill Devi on December 30 and January 23, but missed. On January 25, during their fourth attempt, Devi was shot in the waist and injured.
Four other individuals, including the hitman, his associates, and Harishankar's friend who helped procure the weapon, have also been arrested. The pistol used in the attack has been recovered.
