A tragic incident unfolded in Carlton, Georgia, where Marion Jackson Compton, 70, allegedly shot and killed her husband, Gregory Waco Compton, 77, on Wednesday, February 25. Responding deputies found Gregory Compton deceased from a gunshot wound to the head in their living room.
Marion Compton contacted 911 following the shooting. During the call, she stated her husband had shot her dog approximately a week earlier. While the Sheriff's Office could not confirm this claim, they did acknowledge finding evidence of a dog being shot at the residence around that time, though no deceased animals were present upon their arrival.
Marion Compton has been arrested and faces serious charges, including felony murder, malice murder, elder abuse, and possession of a firearm during a crime. She was held without bond and is scheduled for a court hearing on March 13. If convicted of felony murder, she could face life imprisonment or the death penalty.
