A dashcam video captured the dramatic conclusion of a high-speed chase in Georgia on June 14. A Lee County Sheriff's Office deputy initiated a traffic stop for an improper turn, but the driver of a Nissan Altima instead fled at speeds reaching about 103 mph.
The deputy employed a PIT maneuver, effectively ending the pursuit. The driver, Cameron Paulk, and a passenger, Deandre Lawrence, were arrested. Lawrence, who had an outstanding probation violation warrant, briefly attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody.
During the investigation, deputies discovered two loaded handguns and ammunition inside the vehicle. One of the recovered firearms was reported stolen. Paulk faces charges including felony fleeing and theft by receiving stolen property. Lawrence is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
