Gaya Mob Attacks STF, Snatches Pistols

Seven Special Task Force (STF) jawans were injured and two service pistols were snatched by a mob in Gaya on Sunday night. The attack occurred in Bhuin Toli, Khiriawan village, under the Magadh Medical police station area. The STF team was attempting to apprehend Sanjay Manjhi, who is wanted for a murder that took place on November 11, 2024.
Villagers allegedly raised an alarm, prompting approximately 50 men and women armed with sticks to surround the STF personnel. The mob assaulted the officers and pelted them with bricks. During the altercation, two service pistols were taken from the jawans. Three officers sustained serious injuries, including head and eye wounds, and were hospitalized. They are reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities, including the Gaya SSP and SP, responded swiftly with additional forces. An intensive search operation was launched, leading to the arrest of five people, including two women. The snatched pistols were recovered from a nearby field. Police are continuing efforts to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in the attack.
