Gangster Paraded in Chains: A Stark Message to Criminals

A controversial public display occurred in Hansi, Haryana, where a murder convict, facing numerous other charges, was paraded through the streets in chains. The police defended this action, asserting it was necessary to deliver a potent message to the criminal element and foster greater public confidence.

The individual, identified as gangster Daljit Sihag, was brought to Hansi on a production warrant for an organized crime investigation. Escorted by a substantial police contingent, he walked for several kilometers with his hands bound. Authorities indicated that Sihag had been cultivating a public image as a 'hero' on social media, boasting a follower count of approximately 1.25 lakh.

Sihag's criminal history includes convictions for murder and involvement in attempted killings and extortions. He was serving a life sentence for his role in a murder during the 2016 Jat reservation agitation. A recent controversy arose from a social media post featuring Sihag, prompting an inquiry and the registration of an FIR against the individual allegedly managing his online presence.
