- Accused used Instagram friendship to lure victim.
- Ten accused named, including members of Maya Gang splinter group.
A grim gang rivalry culminated in the murder of Pawan Suryavanshi at Manewada Ghat last Saturday. His associate, Aman Kale, sustained severe injuries during the violent encounter. Investigators have identified 10 accused, reportedly members of a splinter faction of the Maya Gang, who are now the subject of a manhunt by local police and the Crime Branch.
The fatal incident stemmed from a dispute in April between Pawan and an individual known as Kaka, which escalated following an alleged knife attack by Pawan. The accused allegedly used social media to orchestrate the attack, with one member reportedly developing an Instagram friendship with Pawan over two months to gain his trust.
Authorities are analyzing call records and social media evidence to apprehend the suspects and recover the weapons used. Senior police officials are closely monitoring the ongoing investigation into the matter.
