Police in Gandhinagar shot Ramganit Yadav in the legs late last Saturday as he allegedly tried to escape from custody. Yadav is accused of abducting and raping a four-year-old girl. Yadav, a laborer from Bihar, was working at a construction site. During interrogation, he reportedly became aggressive and attempted to flee, prompting officers to fire three shots, hitting him in the legs. He received medical attention and is recovering under police guard, with authorities confirming he will be fit for trial.
