Summary
- Rapper Daniel Boakye arrested in France after two-week escape.
- He taunted police in songs released while on the run.
- Boakye was awaiting deportation to Ghana after a robbery conviction.

Daniel Boakye, 21, a drill rapper performing as Dsavv, was apprehended in La Bouëxière, France, on March 3, 2026, after more than two weeks on the run. He had escaped lawful custody on February 15, 2026, from Lewisham Hospital in south-east London. This followed a previous escape attempt five days earlier from West Middlesex University Hospital, where he was recaptured shortly after.
Boakye, who was due to be deported to Ghana later this year after being jailed in July 2023 for knifepoint robberies, used his time on the run to release music. He recorded a song titled 'The Race', taunting the Met Police and featuring lyrics about his escape and drug references. He also posted videos on Instagram, which has nearly a million followers, mocking his prison escort and referencing the crime drama 'Top Boy'.
Authorities believe Boakye was smuggled out of Britain in a lorry shortly after his escape. The Metropolitan Police, National Crime Agency, and French law enforcement collaborated in his tracking and re-arrest. Detectives are now investigating individuals who may have aided his flight to France. His earlier criminal spree involved robberies totaling over £115,000 in cryptocurrency, facilitated by using victims' phone details.
