A 55-year-old Frito-Lay employee was fatally shot while performing inventory at a Nashville Sam's Club. Paris Carlock of Murfreesboro was counting products in the chip aisle early in the morning when a stray bullet struck him in the head. Store staff attempted to provide aid before he was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department believe the shooting is connected to an altercation that began inside Lavo Lounge on Antioch Pike. Security personnel had removed individuals from the lounge, but the dispute reportedly continued outside, leading to gunshots as vehicles departed the scene. One of these bullets penetrated the Sam's Club exterior wall, fatally wounding Carlock, who is described as an innocent victim. Homicide detectives are pursuing leads, but no arrests have been made. Police are urging anyone with information to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers.
