A gruesome discovery in Frisco has led to the arrest of Luis Mendez Hernandez, who faces charges in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Griselda Amarilis Lopez-Racancoj. Police responded to a medical emergency call at the couple's residence on December 29, 2025, where they found Lopez-Racancoj deceased. Investigators later found her dismembered body concealed in a trash bag beneath a bed.
According to court documents, Hernandez was taken into custody on suspicion of multiple murder charges and tampering with a deceased human body. He allegedly confessed to police that he wrapped his girlfriend's body and hid it, even researching ways to dispose of it and considering fleeing to Mexico. Investigators found a bloody steak knife and evidence of a struggle in the bedroom.
Hernandez reportedly told investigators that he found Lopez-Racancoj deceased and feared he would be blamed. He also mentioned she had been experiencing harassment and suggested she might have been suicidal. He is currently held at the Summit County jail on a $5 million cash surety bond.
