NYE Stabbing: Cops Absent at Taqueria
6 Jan
Summary
- Stabbing occurred outside taqueria on New Year's Eve.
- Taqueria stopped contracting police services in September.
- Owner faces separate arson and fraud charges.

Two individuals sustained injuries in a stabbing that occurred outside Bobby Salazar's Taqueria in Fresno's Tower District during the early morning hours of New Year's Day. The altercation reportedly began inside the establishment before moving outdoors.
Significantly, no police officers were on duty at the taqueria at the time of the incident, as the business had not renewed its contract for police services since September 2023. This contract previously provided uniformed officers and a patrol car during busy periods.
The owner of the taqueria is currently facing separate and serious charges of arson and fraud stemming from an April 2024 incident at another one of his restaurant locations, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
