In Central Fresno, authorities have arrested Lemual Wheatley, 53, for the alleged murder of 72-year-old Leon Conway. Upon forcing entry, officers discovered Conway deceased inside his residence. This confrontation allegedly resulted in Wheatley inflicting blunt force trauma on Conway, leading to his death.
Wheatley was initially located and arrested by Fresno police on Wednesday near Bardell and Kaviland avenues due to an outstanding warrant for an unrelated matter. Subsequently, on Thursday, homicide detectives formally charged him with the murder of Leon Conway.
