In Ambedkarnagar district, a local court has delivered a life sentence to four individuals for their involvement in a 2021 murder and attempted murder that occurred in Achhati village. The court found Sadiq alias Kallu, Israr Khan, Nadeem Khan, and Aleem guilty of murder and attempt to murder charges.
The incident on December 3, 2021, saw the accused armed with weapons attacking the home of Praveen Lata Maurya. Her husband, Ramsakal Maurya, sustained fatal injuries, while their sons Ranvijay and Digvijay, along with their driver Vinay Yadav, were also severely injured. Vehicles in the garage were vandalized.
The motive for the attack is believed to stem from an argument approximately ten days earlier. This dispute, involving Ranvijay Maurya and Sadiq, reportedly included death threats. The court acquitted six other individuals due to a lack of evidence.
