16 Jul
Summary
- Trial date is set for October 13 for a man accused of murder.
- Defendant claims self-defense, alleging victim assaulted his girlfriend.
- Victim was unarmed and died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

A nine-day trial is scheduled to commence on October 13 for Brody Jason Michael Hill, 22, who has pleaded not guilty to charges including first-degree murder. Hill is accused of fatally shooting Maximillian Loustaunau, 35, on the evening of December 21, 2025. The incident occurred outside an apartment complex in south Fort Collins.
Prosecutors contend Hill deliberately drove to Fort Collins and shot the unarmed Loustaunau. Conversely, Hill's defense argues he acted in self-defense after believing his girlfriend, Loustaunau's former partner, was in danger. Investigators detailed an argument where Loustaunau allegedly entered the woman's apartment and pushed her before leaving. Hill remains in custody at the Larimer County Jail without bond.
