Pepper Spray Heist: Forex Exec Robbed of Lakhs in Delhi

A delivery executive for a private forex firm was robbed of foreign currency and cash totaling nearly Rs 9.79 lakh in Delhi. The incident occurred on July 6 when the victim, Hare Krishna Jana, was lured to Sai Chowk in Madhu Vihar for an urgent Euro delivery. He was instructed to enter a car upon arrival.

Once inside the vehicle, three individuals allegedly used pepper spray on Jana, snatched his bag containing 5,500 Euros, 35,000 Thai Baht, 2,600 US Dollars, 1,200 Chinese Yuan, and Rs 10,000, and fled. An FIR was registered, and an investigation revealed the transaction was arranged using a fabricated identity and forged documents.

Investigators traced the suspects to Vishnu Garden in west Delhi and subsequently to Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Two residents of Meerut, Kartik (20) and Kavaljeet (23), were apprehended. They admitted involvement after being presented with technical evidence. The vehicle used in the robbery and a portion of the stolen currency were recovered. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused and recover the rest of the stolen funds.
