A Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) jawan, Sagar Wagh, was apprehended on Friday for his alleged involvement in the abduction and robbery of a forex delivery executive. Wagh was working in collusion with four other individuals, including two police constables.
The incident occurred on March 25 when Sumit Ambavekar, 30, was en route to Juhu for a foreign currency delivery. He was intercepted by five men, identified as constables Sandeep Shinde and Gajendra Rajput, along with Wagh. The group allegedly forced Ambavekar into a vehicle, transported him to Dahisar, and proceeded to rob him of $10,000 and his monthly salary of Rs 15,000.
During the ordeal, constables Shinde and Rajput used their police identification to coerce Ambavekar, even making him inform his family he would not be returning home that night. Patrol officers in Dahisar apprehended Shinde on the spot after noticing a disturbance. Rajput was arrested two days later at his Thane residence.
Following interrogation, Shinde and Rajput disclosed Wagh's location, leading to his subsequent arrest. Both constables have been suspended, and departmental inquiries have been initiated against them. Juhu police are actively searching for the two remaining suspects.
