A property management bookkeeper in Stuart, Florida, is facing serious charges for allegedly stealing substantial funds from homeowners associations. Alexandra Delacaridad Gonzalez, 46, is accused of writing checks to herself from HOA accounts over an extended period. Investigators revealed that she concealed these thefts by generating fictitious invoices and false ledger entries, and also allegedly forged signatures of authorized account holders.
Gonzalez reportedly used the stolen money, amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars, for personal luxury expenses. These included shopping sprees, plastic surgery procedures, and extravagant trips. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek stated that the embezzled funds were entirely spent, leaving no assets to recover. The sheriff's office has issued a warrant for Gonzalez on charges including fraud, grand theft, uttering false instruments, and embezzlement.
Authorities are actively searching for Gonzalez, with current intelligence suggesting she may be in the Miramar or Vero Beach areas. The Martin County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information on her whereabouts or who suspects similar activity with their HOA to come forward. Avant-Garde Property Management, Gonzalez's former employer, has pledged full cooperation with law enforcement in the prosecution and restitution efforts.
