21 Jan
Summary
- Three tourists from Ohio and Michigan were found shot to death.
- The suspect was previously found not guilty by reason of insanity.
- Suspect had a conditional release plan requiring treatment and monitoring.

Forensic experts investigated a triple homicide scene near Kissimmee, Florida, where three tourists from Ohio and Michigan were found shot to death. The victims, James Puchan, 68, Douglas Kraft, 68, and Robert Kraft, 70, were reportedly attempting to resolve a car rental problem when they were attacked. The suspect, 29-year-old Ahmad Bojeh, has a concerning legal history.
Bojeh was arrested in May 2021 after a random shooting incident at a Wawa, where he was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2022. Despite this verdict, court records indicate he was released under a conditional plan. This plan included outpatient treatment, medication, and annual judicial reviews to ensure compliance.
While a case manager's update in April 2023 noted Bojeh's compliance with treatment and medication, no more recent updates were found. His last competency review was in March 2025, with a follow-up scheduled for April 2026. The incident has prompted questions about the mental health system's oversight and the adequacy of conditional release programs.
