Authorities in Lehigh Acres, Florida, have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with a house fire that endangered a sleeping family. The incident occurred early on Saturday, January 3, 2026, when the Lee County Sheriff's Office and fire department responded to a blaze on Paisley Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a propane tank and a homemade incendiary device near the front of the home.
The four occupants of the house managed to escape the flames by fleeing through a window, sustaining no injuries. Investigators were subsequently told by witnesses that the suspect had briefly interacted with the victims shortly before the fire. The teenager was apprehended at his residence, where he allegedly admitted to his involvement in the arson and his intent to cause fatalities.
