31 Jul
Summary
- Man accused of aggravated battery for brutal parking lot assault.
- Victim suffered skull fracture and brain bleed, needs surgery.
- Assailant returned to scene, reinitiated confrontation, police say.

An incident of road rage outside a Hialeah, Florida Walmart on West 49th Street resulted in severe injuries for one driver. Christian Salgado, 46, is accused of aggravated battery following a confrontation that began as a verbal dispute between two drivers in May.
Investigators report that Salgado initially drove away but returned later, blocking the victim's vehicle. The victim's pregnant girlfriend and a child were reportedly inside the car. Salgado then allegedly attacked the victim, lifting and slamming him onto the pavement.
The victim suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed, necessitating emergency surgery. He may require further spine surgery. Salgado remained at the scene, claiming self-defense, but authorities identified him as the primary aggressor for reinitiating the conflict.
A judge set Salgado's bond at $15,000, citing the victim's potentially life-altering injuries, including the possibility of never walking again. Salgado has since posted bond but remains in custody as the legal proceedings continue, with no court date yet announced.
