Summary
- Baby found with cockroaches crawling on his body.
- Apartment reeked of vile odor and was covered in feces.
- Parents charged with child neglect and elderly abuse.

Parents in Palm Coast, Florida, were arrested and charged with neglect after their infant son was found with cockroaches crawling over his body. Deputies responding to a welfare check discovered the apartment in a state of extreme squalor, filled with animal and insect feces and emitting a foul odor.
The investigation revealed that not only the one-year-old child but also an 81-year-old family member were living in deplorable conditions. The elderly man, unable to care for himself, was found in a bedroom with insects emerging from his mattress and clothing.
The parents, Nikolas Anthony Cummings and Tashaye Driaunah Brown, reportedly claimed they could not afford professional pest control, resorting to a nightly routine of shaking insects out of the baby's playpen and spraying Raid. They face charges for cruelty toward a child and neglect of an elderly or disabled adult.
