- The suspect confessed to stalking and using the tracking device.

A 23-year-old Florida man, Jakir Hasan, has been arrested and charged with aggravated stalking and installing a tracking device without consent. For approximately six months, Hasan allegedly harassed his ex-girlfriend through texts, letters, and social media, despite repeated attempts by the victim to block him. The harassment intensified on January 11, when the victim's brother found a letter containing two long letters, a short letter, and a live 9mm bullet on their driveway.
Hasan also placed an Apple AirTag tracker on his ex-girlfriend's vehicle, which she discovered with the help of her phone. On the same day the tracker was found, he reportedly sent flowers to her home. Hasan confessed to sending the bullet and placing the tracker on her car during questioning by the Broward County Sheriff's Office. He has since been released on $10,000 bail and is subject to a GPS tracker and a restraining order preventing contact with his ex-girlfriend.
