Brandon Pirela, 26, will spend 25 years in prison for attempting to murder a friend. A jury found Pirela guilty of attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The shooting occurred on December 1, 2023, after Pirela coordinated with his ex-girlfriend, Arianna Gajraj.
Gajraj lured the victim to a Clermont neighborhood under the guise of discussing issues with Pirela. While they sat in a parked car, Pirela arrived and unleashed a barrage of over 20 shots. The victim's vehicle sustained approximately 13 bullet impacts, and nearby property was also damaged.
Despite the intense gunfire, the victim was able to flee and notify authorities. Evidence, including text messages between Pirela and Gajraj, revealed a plan to kill the victim, with Pirela insisting, "he's dying tonight." Pirela had also sent prior threats to the victim.
Gajraj cooperated with prosecutors and testified against Pirela. She received a sentence of three years in prison followed by six years of probation for her role.
