A man accused of a random fatal stabbing in a Florida bookstore had traveled through several states before the incident. Police identified the suspect as Antonio R. Moore, 40, who is charged with killing Rita B. Loncharich, 65, on the evening of December 22.
Moore, who reportedly traveled from Orlando to Titusville and then into Palm Beach County, allegedly approached Loncharich in a store aisle and stabbed her with a pocketknife. He claimed a 'fight or flight' response, stating she was the closest person to him and he had no prior interaction.
Bystanders aided Loncharich until first responders arrived, but she later died during surgery. Moore, described as homeless, was apprehended blocks away and booked on first-degree premeditated murder, with no bond set. Local community members remembered Loncharich as a kind and gentle person.
