Two individuals have been arrested and charged with murder in the January shooting death of Andre Bell, a 20-year-old sophomore and basketball player at Fisk University.
Brayden Carter, 19, and Damarion Coleman, 18, were apprehended in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on multiple charges including first-degree murder. Bell tragically passed away on January 12th at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after being shot while in his vehicle following a gymnastics event.
According to investigators, the motive for the shooting was jealousy. Carter's girlfriend was reportedly on the Fisk University gymnastics team, and Carter allegedly did not want other young men speaking to her. Bell and his teammates were allegedly targeted by Carter and Coleman with the intent to intimidate them away from the girlfriend.
