NCB Secures Conviction in Massive Firozabad Drug Case

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has achieved a significant conviction against nine individuals in connection with a large ganja seizure in Firozabad. An Additional District and Sessions Court handed down rigorous imprisonment sentences ranging from 10 to 20 years.
The case originated on November 4, 2021, when police discovered 441 kg of ganja concealed within a truck in Firozabad. The contraband was en route from Odisha to Aligarh. The initial arrests included the truck driver and co-driver.
Further investigation by the NCB led to the identification and arrest of seven additional accused persons, revealing a broader trafficking network. The court imposed substantial fines totaling ₹11 lakh on the convicts.
In addition to the prison sentences, a financial probe led to the freezing of assets and properties worth ₹32.12 lakh belonging to the convicts in 2024. Proceedings under the PITNDPS Act were also initiated, with orders issued in 2022 and 2023. The seized truck is also being processed for auction.
