The complaint was lodged by Dr. Ajay Murdia, founder of Indira Group of Companies, who alleged he was defrauded of Rs 30 crore. Murdia claims he was promised substantial earnings for a biopic on his late wife, a promise that reportedly remained unfulfilled.
This development marks a significant escalation in the investigation, with Bhatt, his wife, and six others named as accused. Udaipur police are expected to seek transit remand for the couple in Bandra court. Two individuals have already been arrested in connection with the case prior to Sunday's detentions.
