A shocking incident unfolded on Tuesday, March 10, when a Florida teenager discovered fentanyl on her bathroom sink at home. The 12-year-old student brought the dangerous substance to LA Ainger Middle School in Rotunda West, leading to a near-fatal overdose. School nurse and deputies administered CPR and Narcan, respectively, to revive the unconscious student before she was transported to a local hospital.
Authorities arrested her caregivers, Joshua Lee Sanders, 40, and Courtney Delaney, 34, in connection with the overdose. They face felony charges including child neglect resulting in great bodily harm, and neglect without great bodily harm for other children in the household. Detectives learned the couple had argued about the presence of the drug in the home. Sanders' bond is set at $450,000, while Delaney's is $25,000.
