In Cobb County, a traffic stop on July 24 led to the arrest of Erin Lynn Pernell and Charles David Floyd. Floyd was apprehended due to an active warrant from Warren County.
During the initial search of Floyd's vehicle, officers found approximately one gram of suspected fentanyl, along with syringes. A search of Pernell's backpack revealed more suspected fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and measuring tools.
Authorities report that Pernell, after being placed in a patrol car, allegedly removed a hand from her handcuffs and concealed more suspected fentanyl internally. This led to an attempted ingestion at the jail, where approximately eight grams were recovered.
