In Etawah, police apprehended a daughter and her lover late on Sunday night for the alleged murder of her 55-year-old father. Security guard Shyam Sundar Katheriya was reportedly killed and his body concealed within a box in a locked room at Kanshiram Colony. The grim discovery was made after neighbors reported a strong, foul odor emanating from the room.
Responding to the alert, Civil Lines police forced entry into the locked room and found Katheriya's decomposed body. The victim's daughter, Pooja, who resided with him, had gone missing, leading to suspicion. Authorities later arrested her and her lover. Investigators believe Katheriya was killed and his body subsequently placed in the box.
Katheriya, who worked as a guard at Shubham Hotel, had reportedly disapproved of his daughter's relationship. His eldest daughter confirmed last contact five days prior and noted her father's phone was switched off. She also expressed suspicion regarding Pooja's involvement.
