Father Scalds Toddler's Hand in Rage
19 Sep
Summary
- Man allegedly scalded son's fingers on hot plate.
- Wife assaulted for intervening to protect child.
- Assault followed marital dispute and court reconciliation attempt.
In Kalyan, a distressing incident unfolded where a two-year-old boy allegedly suffered burns on three fingers after his father, Rahul Suresh Visale, pressed his hand against a hot plate. The rage reportedly stemmed from the toddler avoiding the father. Visale also assaulted his wife, Rohini, when she attempted to protect their child, striking her with a broom.
The couple, residents of Parnaka, have experienced marital discord previously, with one dispute reaching the courts. Recently, a court had advised Rohini to cohabit with Visale for two months to attempt reconciliation. Following this directive, Rohini had moved back to her husband's residence.
Rohini's complaint indicates that her husband harbored resentment from their past conflicts, which she believes fueled the recent assault. Visale has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. He has not yet been arrested.
