On November 12, 2025, John Skelton was charged with three counts of open murder and three counts of tampering with evidence in connection with the 2010 disappearance of his sons - Andrew (9), Alexander (7), and Tanner (5).
The boys were spending Thanksgiving with their father in Morenci, Michigan, in November 2010 when they failed to return home to their mother the following day. Authorities later searched Skelton's home and discovered disturbing evidence, including a noose hanging from the second floor, a Bible open with a verse circled, and a note that seemed to address the boys' mother, Tanya Zuvers. According to an FBI agent, the note allegedly read: "You will hate me forever and I know this," which the agent described as a "passive admission to killing the children."
