A deadly shooting in southeast Houston claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman over the weekend. The incident occurred early Sunday morning at an apartment complex on Calhoun Street. Police responded to the shooting call around 12:45 a.m.
Law enforcement learned that the victim had been transported to a hospital in a private vehicle before their arrival. She was later pronounced deceased a couple of hours after the shooting incident.
Houston Police Department reports indicate that a physical altercation broke out among multiple individuals in the apartment complex parking lot. The conflict escalated, and the suspect fired a gun, striking the victim. The victim's father stated she was attempting to de-escalate the situation when the shooting happened.
Investigators interviewed several witnesses at the scene who provided information about the suspect. However, as of Sunday, no arrests have been made. HPD is urging anyone with information to contact the Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers.
