In Ohio, Tarsem Singh has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a fatal crash that occurred on February 16. The incident involved a high-speed chase initiated when a deputy observed Singh driving at 100 miles per hour. The pursuit spanned approximately five miles before Singh's Land Rover Range Rover Velar collided head-on with a Jeep Cherokee.
Tragically, 17-year-old Ashlee Holmes, a passenger in Singh's vehicle and reportedly the mother of his child, was ejected during the crash. She was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Jeep sustained injuries but was conscious and alert. Singh received medical treatment for his injuries before his arrest.
Singh's bond has been set at $1 million. A grand jury has indicted him on multiple counts, including involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and failure to comply with a police officer. His asylum case status raises the possibility of deportation if convicted.
