Fatal Hit-and-Run: Teen's Suspects Face More Charges

A judge in Chatham County has denied bond for two men accused in the fatal hit-and-run of a 14-year-old.
Miguel Reyes-Castro, 32, and Olvin Antonio Ramos-Ramos, 29, appeared in court on January 26, 2026. They were initially charged with evidence tampering and obstruction following the December 28 incident.
New charges brought forth by the Chatham County Police Department include first-degree vehicular homicide and first-degree felony hit-and-run for Reyes-Castro. Ramos-Ramos faces charges related to being a felony party to a crime.
The court heard that Marcus Anderson was riding an electric bike around 7 p.m. when he was fatally struck by a vehicle that then left the scene. The vehicle was recovered by authorities shortly after.
A preliminary hearing for both defendants is scheduled for February 5. Their legal representatives requested a rescheduling of this hearing.
