The vehicle involved has been identified as a 2007 red Chevrolet Corvette with a black top and Illinois license plate FR 56003. Police are actively searching for the driver, who fled the scene without stopping.
This heartbreaking event follows another recent fatality of a Hyde Park High School student, 15-year-old Violet Harris, who was killed in a separate hit-and-run nine days prior. Both families are seeking answers and justice for the young victims.
