In Fatehpur, police have unraveled a 40-year-old farmer's murder, reportedly orchestrated by his wife and her female partner. The body of the farmer was discovered with a slit throat in a field near Tiker village on January 14. Investigations revealed the women, in a relationship for 1.5 years, conspired to eliminate the farmer to live together freely.
The alleged plot involved hiring hitmen, with a deal struck for Rs 60,000, including an Rs 8,000 advance. The victim was reportedly strangled and then his throat was slit. The farmer's wife had allegedly been provided a mobile phone by her partner three months prior to aid their communication.
Authorities apprehended the wife, her partner, and one alleged killer on Sunday evening. The motive appears to stem from the farmer's objections to his wife's partner's frequent visits. Two other individuals involved in the crime are still fugitives, and police have recovered incriminating evidence, including mobile phones, a knife, and a rope.
