11 Jul
Summary
- A farmer allegedly murdered six people before killing his own family.
- The victims included a POCSO case victim, her mother, and grandmother.
- The accused is currently absconding, and a manhunt is underway.

A horrific crime spree unfolded on Friday night when a 35-year-old farmer from Ranga Reddy district allegedly murdered six individuals before taking his own family's lives. The violence began in Shabad town, where the farmer targeted the family of a teenage girl against whom he had faced a POCSO complaint in May for alleged stalking.
He first fatally attacked the girl's mother at her doorstep, then killed her grandmother inside the home. The teenager was forced into his car and later killed near a lake in his village. The accused then returned to his home and murdered his wife and their two young sons before fleeing.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the absconding farmer. He had previously been granted anticipatory bail in June for the POCSO case, which involved an alleged offense carrying a sentence of less than seven years. The exact trigger for the escalating violence remains unclear as investigations continue.
