A devastating incident unfolded in Srisailam, Nandyal district, where five members of a family allegedly died by suicide in a pact. The deceased have been identified as Gogula Adi Lakshmi, 50, Malleswari, 45, P Sudhakar, 36, Sridevi, 33, and Manikanta, 15, all from Bathalapalli village in Sri Sathya Sai district.
The family had reportedly been living at the Vaddera Choultries, a pilgrim accommodation complex, for approximately one month. Concerns were raised by choultry staff when the family remained unseen for two days and a strong, unpleasant odor began to emanate from their room.
Upon forcibly entering the room, staff discovered the grim scene: three women were found deceased in the bathroom, while two others were found hanging from the ceiling fan. The authorities were immediately alerted, and a police team arrived to commence an investigation. Initial findings point towards severe financial difficulties as the probable cause behind the family's tragic decision. A case has been registered, and further inquiries are ongoing.
