A family of three tragically died after falling approximately 400ft from the 36th floor of the Highpoint tower in Elephant and Castle, south London, on May 27th. The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Pai, 47, Aditi Paralkar, 46, and their nine-year-old son, Sid. Police are treating the deaths as unexpected and are investigating, with local MP Neil Coyle suggesting the child's severe congenital illnesses may have led to a "horrendous decision" by the parents.
Sid was born in the UK with significant health issues, including kidney disease and developmental difficulties. Reports indicate the family had previously lived in India for specialist medical care for Sid, returning to the UK last year.
