Summary
- Seven-member gang posed as Delhi Police to extort money.
- Victim's live location sharing led to the gang's capture.
- Four alleged gang members arrested with fake IDs.

An evening of celebration in Gurgaon was disrupted on July 29 when a seven-member gang, posing as a Delhi Police special team, infiltrated a house party. The imposters, brandishing fake identity cards, threatened to implicate the partygoers in criminal cases unless a sum of Rs 25 lakh was paid.
The alleged mastermind, Rishi, took one of the occupants, Sagar, in a vehicle to collect the ransom. However, Sagar secretly shared his live location with a friend, Jagrit, who, along with associates, tracked the vehicle. This intervention led to a confrontation, during which Rishi escaped, but four accomplices remaining at the party were apprehended by the partygoers.
Authorities arrived at the scene following a PCR call and took custody of the four arrested individuals: Satvinder, Tinu, Naveen, and Sneha. Investigations revealed that Rishi had procured the fake IDs and recruited the others, claiming the party's host was wealthy. Police are actively searching for Rishi and others involved, and investigating the source of the forged documents.
