A TTE, Nita Krishna Myathri, noticed the suspicious card and handed him over for questioning.
During interrogation, Khan admitted to creating the fraudulent identity card online using the EPIK app. The fake ID claimed he was an Assistant Station Manager with Central Railway, Mumbai Division, bearing an issue date of 2025. The card featured official-looking emblems and text in both Marathi and English.
