During the Gurgaon operation, 262 suspected vials of fake Mounjaro, valued at Rs 70 lakh, were confiscated, and two individuals were apprehended. Investigations revealed that at least six of these counterfeit injections made their way to a dealer in Hyderabad. Authorities are actively investigating potential wider inter-city and online distribution networks.
It is alleged that the illicit operation involved manufacturing the fake injections within a flat in Gurgaon. The process reportedly utilized raw materials procured from China, alongside packaging that was 3D-printed. The widening scope of this investigation highlights concerns about the distribution of counterfeit pharmaceuticals.
