Authorities in Delhi have apprehended four individuals suspected of operating a network that manufactured, stored, and sold counterfeit branded household products throughout the Delhi-NCR region. The operation, based on an informant's tip, led to the seizure of a significant amount of fake goods, including 1,130 liters of ghee, 3,000kg of TATA salt, and numerous ENO, All Out, and Veet products.
The accused reportedly used extremely cheap and harmful chemicals to produce these items, subsequently selling them to shops in Delhi-NCR at reduced bulk prices. Police investigations uncovered three distinct manufacturing and storage units located in Uttam Nagar, Kanjhawala, and Nihal Vihar, revealing a criminal enterprise that had been active for several months.
This bust highlights a significant intellectual property rights infringement and a serious threat to public health. The arrested individuals, identified as Nitin Kumar, Surender Gujjar, Rajat Singhal, and Md Mujahid, are now facing charges related to their involvement in this illicit operation.
