Fake Doctor Ran 100-Bed Hospital, Performed Surgeries

Summary

  • An eighth-grade dropout operated a 100-bed hospital and performed surgeries.
  • Two men arrested for using forged qualifications to register as doctors.
  • One accused faked an MBBS degree after failing foreign graduate exams.

In Rajasthan, the Special Operations Group (SOG) apprehended two men recently for allegedly obtaining registration as doctors with the Rajasthan Medical Council through forged qualifications. A significant arrest involved Nananjiram Chaudhary, a man who had only completed eighth grade but successfully operated a 100-bed hospital in Jalore. He had purportedly performed surgeries at his Bhaskar Hospital.

Investigators revealed that Chaudhary submitted multiple counterfeit documents, including high school marksheets, an MBBS degree, and a Gynaecology and Obstetrics diploma. The Mumbai institution that supposedly issued the diploma has confirmed the forgery. Chaudhary's career began at a hospital's outpatient counter before he acquired and renamed his own facility.

The second arrested individual, Pankaj Yadav, is accused of forging an MBBS degree from a Bihar college after failing the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination repeatedly. He also presented a fake Bihar Medical Council registration certificate. Yadav was apprehended in Haryana, where he was reportedly hiding to avoid arrest.

The investigation was initiated following a complaint filed by the RMC registrar in October 2024, which listed eight individuals suspected of using forged documents for registration. The SOG is now working to identify the individuals responsible for creating and supplying these fraudulent qualifications.
