Police in Hyderabad have apprehended a man identified as Balakrishna Samman, from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. He was caught at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport while impersonating a CISF officer, wearing a uniform and taking photographs, which aroused suspicion among security personnel.
During questioning, Balakrishna failed to provide proper identification, leading to his arrest. Investigations revealed he was engaged in marriage fraud. He posed as a CISF officer undergoing training to convince the family of a divorcee he was involved with for marriage. He had purchased a CISF uniform to take photos and share them via WhatsApp as proof.
Further investigation uncovered that Balakrishna had created fake profiles on social media and matrimonial sites, presenting himself as a government employee. His phone contained numerous chats with women, suggesting a pattern of deception. Investigators believe he operated from Hyderabad to make it harder for victims to identify him compared to his hometown.
