Anupshahr police and Bulandshahr SWAT team have arrested five individuals, including two sought-after fugitives, in connection with a brazen dacoity. The criminals impersonated CBI officers to gain entry into a trader's home and absconded with valuables. The police successfully recovered a substantial amount of looted gold and silver jewelry, along with Rs 13.30 lakh in cash.
Further investigations revealed that the gang used two motorcycles in the crime and were found in possession of three illegal firearms and ammunition. Indrapal and Yakesh, carrying Rs 25,000 rewards each, were among the apprehended. The Director General of Police later announced an enhanced reward of Rs 50,000 for the gang due to the significant recovery.
Interrogation indicated that one of the arrested, Indrapal, recently out on bail, colluded with an insider, Sanjay, who worked for the trader. Sanjay provided critical inside information about cash and valuables at the residence, facilitating the December 19th dacoity. The accused, all with extensive criminal histories, have been sent to judicial custody.
