A man identified as Abdulrahman Oriyomi, 25, has been charged with a felony after allegedly boarding a United Airlines flight using a fake boarding pass. The incident occurred at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
Oriyomi was found by flight attendants in one of the plane's bathrooms after he could not find an open seat and asked to sit in the jump seat. Flight attendants discovered he was not on the passenger manifest, prompting the flight crew to return the plane to the gate.
Authorities allege Oriyomi bypassed TSA security and gate agents by first appearing to have difficulty with his boarding pass at one checkpoint, then later scanning a pass multiple times unsuccessfully at a gate before slipping past staff. Investigators believe the boarding pass he used was forged.
The flight to Los Angeles was delayed by approximately three hours, and law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, were dispatched to the scene. Oriyomi, who had a prior reservation that was canceled due to non-payment, was issued a trespass warning before leaving the airport.
