A 20-year-old man, Anshu Prajapati, has been arrested by Ghaziabad police for allegedly issuing death threats while posing as a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Prajapati reportedly sent two threatening WhatsApp voice messages to Aarav Sharma, a resident of Vijay Nagar, on October 18, 2026. He used a profile picture of Lawrence Bishnoi and incorporated the gang's name to make the threats appear credible.
The arrest followed a complaint by Sharma, leading the Ghaziabad Crime Branch and surveillance team to trace the mobile number. Prajapati, originally from Faizabad district, had moved to Pune for work. Investigators found that he became influenced by online content related to the Bishnoi gang, prompting him to create a fake WhatsApp Business account for intimidation purposes. He allegedly collected numbers through social media to send threats, aiming to create fear among recipients.
